BI Analyst - Regulatory & Bureau Reporting

Role: BI Analyst - Regulatory & Bureau Reporting

Experience: 3 to 7 years

Location(s): Kurla Mumbai

Salary: Up to INR 20 LPA (Including 10% variable)

1. Job Purpose Statement

To support and enhance Regulatory and Bureau Reporting through data-driven insights, automation, and AI-enabled solutions. The role requires a strong blend of business understanding, data engineering, reporting expertise, and AI capabilities to improve reporting accuracy, compliance, productivity, and turnaround time.

The ideal candidate should be capable of understanding regulatory requirements, translating them into data solutions, and leveraging AI tools to automate manual processes, improve data quality, and accelerate reporting delivery.

2. Duties & Responsibilities 

Regulatory & Bureau Reporting

• Develop, maintain and enhance Regulatory and Bureau reports.
• Understand reporting guidelines issued by regulators, bureaus and internal compliance teams.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of reporting submissions.
• Perform reconciliation between source systems, data warehouse and final reports.
• Investigate data quality issues and drive closure with business and technology teams.
• Conduct impact assessment for regulatory changes and new reporting requirements.

Business & Functional Analysis

• Gather and document business requirements.
• Translate functional requirements into technical specifications.
• Prepare BRD, FSD, mapping documents and data dictionaries.
• Work closely with Business, Risk, Compliance, Operations and Technology teams.

Data & BI Development

• Develop data pipelines using Databricks SQL and PySpark.
• Build and optimize datasets for reporting and analytics.
• Design Power BI dashboards and automated reporting solutions.
• Create reusable data models and reporting frameworks.
• Improve query performance and optimize data processing.

AI & Automation

• Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort through AI and automation.
• Use GenAI tools to accelerate SQL, Python and reporting development.
• Build AI-assisted solutions for:
• Report generation
• Data validation
• Reconciliation
• Documentation creation
• Root cause analysis
• Regulatory change impact assessment
• Develop reusable prompts, AI workflows and automation accelerators.
• Continuously improve team productivity using AI tools.

Data Governance & Quality

• Monitor data quality and reporting controls.
• Implement automated validation checks.
• Ensure compliance with governance standards.
• Support audit and compliance reviews.

 3. Job Requirements

·       Bachelor’s or master’s Degree in related field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering. 

·       Data Visualization in Power BI

·       Data understanding

·       Strong Technical skills in Power BI and data interpretation

·       Should understand Databricks PySpark, Databricks SQL Queries and strong knowledge of Data Flow and Table/DB Design Structure

·       Knowledge of Python

·       Added knowledge of tableau will be helpful

·       Knowledge/Experience of Banking Domain would be an added advantage

·      Knowledge of Gen AI tools

·       Design Effective, User friendly and Interactive Dashboards

·       Strong Data understanding and interpretation using T-SQL

·       Good understanding on Data Structure and Database design

·       Should understand the complete data flow in DB and Power BI Servers

·       Python Language coding

·       Good Technical and Troubleshooting skill

·       Should have team handling experience of 4-6 members and be able to assist the team

·       Databricks End‑to‑End Data Engineering (Workspace, Notebooks, Jobs, Delta Lake)

·       Regular usage of GenAI tools (Copilot / ChatGPT / Other LLMs) for writing & optimizing SQL queries, generating DAX measures, creating data transformations, and drafting documentation (BRD/FSD, summaries)

·       Ability to write effective prompts to convert business requirements into SQL/DAX logic, debug queries/Python code, generate test datasets, and simplify data insights

·       Exposure to Databricks Genie (or similar AI tools) for NLP querying, faster notebook development, and understanding datasets/tables while reducing manual coding

·       Uses Python with AI support for data cleaning (Pandas), exploratory analysis, and automating repetitive tasks

·       Applies AI for data validation, anomaly detection, KPI variance analysis, and reporting automation

·       Understands importance of clean, structured data in Databricks/Lakehouse to support AI and BI use cases
